Ethnografilm Festival 2016

published: March 7, 2016

Understanding the social world through film.

From the 29th of March to the 2nd April 2016, Ciné 13 in the Montmartre District of Paris will play host to the Ethnografilm Festival, a celebration of non-fiction filmmaking and video ethnography.

The programme for the 2016 Ethnografilm Festival has now been released, with over 100 works by documentary and academic filmmakers (download).

The Ethnografilm Festival aims to enhance our understanding of the social world through film, by promoting the examination of cultures and social issues, with films that describe “patterns of living” throughout the world to educate and entertain.

The 2016 Festival is characterized by its broad intellectual range and focus on topics of critical contemporary relevance such as migration, belonging and identity, tradition and development. It serves as a showcase for work and forum for dialogue between independent and academic documentary filmmakers.

Ethnografilm is co-sponsored by the International Social Science Council (ISSC) and the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S).
